'Divergent' is a film in the genre of Action and adventure:
- Main Protagonist voice over explaining her life, this gives background and helps position the audience with the character
- The voice over says 'my faction' and a little girl out of place is shown, we can connect that this is the main character (either now or when she was younger)
- As the voice over says 'my father' a man is shown
- The audience can see another character who is portrayed as the leader
'Legally Blonde' is a film in the genre of comedy:
- Main character is shown getting ready
- We can tell she takes care in her appearance as her hair/nails are perfect

- The audience can see from the opening that the main character is very popular as she was homecoming queen
- The audience can see her personality and view it as very feminine as a lot of her objects are pink
- The audience sees the main character at the end of the clip receiving the letter which travelled around the sorority for her - this shows she has other people do things for her, perceives her as important and powerful
