My chosen genre

For my opening sequence, my group and I have decided to do a Romantic Comedy, we decided to do this genre because we all like to watch this genre and wanted to further our knowledge on it.

Narrative - A romantic comedy usually has a narrative of a woman VS a man, or people who can't be together who gradually find their way towards each other

Characters Types - Most romantic comedies have similar character types, 

for example:

'Mean Girl's and 'Bratz' are very similar.

- Group of close girls in both

- New girl in both

- A boy they like in both

'Life as we know it' and 'Just go with it' also have major similarities within character types

- Two adults who aren't together at first

- In both movies the main characters end up falling in love 

Music in romantic comedies is usually upbeat, positive. Often contemporary popular music is used.
The lighting in romantic comedies is often high-key and bright. The mise-en-scne often includes an urban setting. Though other elements of mise-en-scne, props and costumes are non-specific.
